With over 15 years experience as a singer, performer,
teacher and consultant, Melissa specializes in improving
technique without compromising style. Whether you
want to sing better in church, record a demo, or you're
already on tour, Melissa will teach you what you need
and want to know by personalizing your lesson plan.
While paving the way to the student's artistry, Melissa
will also help you navigate your way through the music
business.

Certification Degree: Melissa has over 15 years
experience as a vocal coach. She has one year of classical
voice training, 5 years of contemporary voice training,
two separate voice teaching apprenticeships and majored
in secondary education at Georgia State University.
Melissa has received an Honor Award from the National
Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA) and
several songwriting awards from the National Songwriters
Association International/ Georgia Chapter (NSAI).
Other Achievements:
- Represented the Recording Academy as a music industry
panelist at the first Grammy Conference in Beijing,
China
- Released two full length CD’s (Forward Into
The Past and If I Had A Voice)
- Spoken on panels for music conferences throughout
the Southeast, U.S.
- Developed a six week vocal workshop for Georgia
Tech’s “Options Program”
- Introduced the vocal program into the Gwinnett
School of Rock
- Judged several competitions including the famed
Eddie’s Attic “Open Mic Shootout”
Melissa is an active member of the Recording Academy
(NARAS), the Songwriters Hall of Fame(SHOF) and ASCAP
and NFAA.
Teaching philosophy: It is important that each student
has a basic understanding of vocal mechanics and a
thorough understanding of their own voice.

Require curriculum: Although Melissa has formulated
some of her own exercises and techniques for getting
excellent results, there is no set curriculum for
students. All lessons are tailor made to suit each
student's needs, desires and goals.
